About Tres Zapotes Site Museum
Opening its doors since the seventies, the rooms of this museum exhibit collections of Olmec monuments that were found in Tres Zapotes. At the entrance you will receive a huge jaguar coming from Santiago Tuxtla, where also the first colossal head was discovered in 1862. The privileged geographical location is reflected in the pieces you see, as they had pottery clay and basalt as raw material for his sculptures.
