About Ex Convent of San Agustin
The convent of Xilitla, built in the 16th century, is the only existing Plateresque style and the oldest in the state. Constructed of solid masonry, with thick and high walls crowned by battlements of Moorish influence. At one time it was used as a school, barracks and even canteen. Recently it was remodeled its main façade, now with special lighting on both the facade and roofs, main nave and cloister. Los Domingos is Huapangueada's day in the main square, a traditional dance with music, also is installed of the tianguis where the famous zacahuiles are prepared (tamales up to two meters to share).
