About Ex Convento de San Juan Bautista
Construction dating back to 1541, it is one of the large complexes that resemble a fortress. Its façade presents Gothic and Renaissance features and in the atrium it houses four chapels. The Gothic rose window that adorns the entrance also stands out, which is an emblem that distinguishes the convents of the state of Morelos.
Something that attracts attention is the Gothic pulpit carved from quarry and its ribs on the ceiling, as well as the beautiful wall paintings in the cloister. This convent is one of the fourteen that are located on the Route of the Convents of Morelos, declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
