About Bonampak Archaeological Sites
Located in the Lacandon Jungle, its name means "painted walls" and is precisely what distinguishes it from other places. Discovered in 1946, the murals housed in the Temple of the Paintings, which in turn is on the Acropolis, dating from 790 AD It is also open to the public the Great Plaza, which shows Chaan Muan II celebrating its fifth year in office.
