About The San Cristobal Cathedral
Located in the center of the city, it was built in 1528 and its first parish priest was Fray Bartolomé de las Casas, defender of the Indians. Its facade is yellow and white, with a mix of Baroque, Moorish and indigenous influences. Inside, its altar is consecrated to the Virgin of the Assumption and San Cristóbal Mártir. As a curious fact, they say that the ladies of San Cristóbal the maids brought them chocolate during the sermon.
