About The Chapitel (Museum)

Despite Huichapan being a small city, the historical weight it carries is enormous since it was from the mansion known as El Chapitel that the first cry of Independence was given on September 16, 1812, led by Andrés Quintana Roo and Ignacio López Rayón.

Located in front of the Zaragoza Garden, the house has two floors and a beautiful iron balcony, an important witness to the history of Mexico.

Inside is the Museum of Archeology and History of Huichapan, where the historical wealth of the state and the municipality is displayed in 5 rooms.

In addition, workshops, courses as well as artistic and cultural activities are carried out.
