About Former Convent of San Juan Bautista
Former Dominican convent built between the years of 1571 and 1581 in the vicinity of the Popocatépetl volcano and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This building recalls an authentic fortress with a large atrium surrounded by massive retaining walls. This property stands out for its polychrome wall paintings, corridors adorned with murals of phytomorphic crosses, and its magnificent woodwork that can be admired on the ceiling of the sacristy.
