Description Biosphere Reserve Monarch Butterfly
The Reserve is an area of 56 thousand hectares shelter located in Mexican territory dedicated to protecting the monarch and preserve their natural habitat. Constituted by dense forests of fir or fir with features ideal for the preservation of the species. After a journey of about 4,500 kilometers from Canada and the United States, the monarch butterfly reaches its winter habitat in Mexico during the month of November.
