Description Monarch Butterfly
The mountains of the Reserve and its vegetation are home to a variety of microclimates that give shelter to hundreds of millions of Monarch butterflies, which congregate each fall from large areas of North America, hanging from the branches and trunks grouped, staining the orange trees. the importance of this place is to protect key sites of the Monarch butterfly hibernation, thereby preserving the overall biological phenomenon of migration, because of being so dispersed in the United States and Canada in the nursery stage, these butterflies held longest annual migration of all other insects, and one of the ten longest in the animal kingdom.
