Description Alacranes Reef
It is a group of small islands of coral origin located in the Gulf of Mexico, forming the largest coral structure in the Gulf of Mexico and the only reef described in the State. It has a high biological diversity and importance to the preservation of germplasm. In the area there have been 34 species of corals which the entozoarios, the scleractinian corals and deer antlers and moose are under special protection.
