About Convent of San Agustin
A town occupied by Otomis, they were evangelized by the order of Saint Augustine, and their temple was built under the order of Fray Juan de Sevilla between 1542 and 1562, the first being carried out on Otomi lands. Inside, be sure to observe its side chapels and its annexed cloister with mural painting related to the Passion of Christ is also highly recommended. It is, without a doubt, the greatest jewel of Atotonilco.
