About House of the Constitution
The place is known that way because this was where the Insurgent Congress led by José María Morelos y Pavón signed what became the First Constitution of Mexico on October 22, 1814. This museum dedicated to this historical event exhibits important documents of the time, as well as oils by Roberto Cueva del Río and Rafael Gallegos. It was here that a republican government was organized and the indigenous people became equal.
