About The Yacatas of Tzintzuntzan (Archaeological Site)
The last great capital of the Purépecha empire. From here the political, economic and religious life of most of the State was controlled. The site is also known as Las Yacatas, pyramidal structures rounded on a large platform, of which still five are preserved; although somewhat deteriorated, it does not fail to amaze the majesty of these ruins and the collection of pieces that exhibits its small museum of site.
