About Santa Lucia Park (Main Square)
When Mérida was founded in 1542, this place was an untouched piece of land outside of downtown Mérida. Its church was built a short time later in 1565. Since 1965 this place to visit has been very visited by the serenade, where every Thursday at 9 o'clock at night the place is decorated with music and dance from Yucatan, and on Tuesdays, with music from Jazz. In 2013 it was renovated and opened with shops and very good restaurants like: Café Bar 500 with live music every night, Apoala with Mexican cuisine, La Tratto with classic Italian cuisine, Rosa Sur 32 from the famous Chef Mario Espinosa and the He revokes Argentine cuisine and grill.
